1D Cinema invites you to screenings and workshops with Andrzej Titkow

As part of the June instalment pf 1D Cinema - a cycle that aims to "disenchant" documentary cinema - the OFFicyna Association, Kana Theatre Centre, and CKE Stara Rzeźnia, in cooperation with the National Audiovisual Institute in Warsaw, would like to invite you to two cinematic days with prominent Polish documentary filmmaker Andrzej Titkow. To celebrate the launch of the filmmaker's box-set of films, published by the National Audiovisual Institute as part of the Polish School of Documentary series, on June 9th at 18:00 the "Iluzjon" cinema (in Stara Rzeźnia) will hold a presentation of four of the films included in the box-set. The screening will be followed by a meeting with the author. The screening and meeting are admission-free. On Wednesday, June 10th, however, Andrzej Titkow will be running film workshops. You can enroll for the event via e-mail: weronika@kana.art.pl. The time of the workshops will be agreed upon with the participants directly. The cost of participation is 50 PLN per capita.
Andrzej Titkow: poet, director, screenwriter, producer, lecturer on film art. Has made over seventy documentary films. Has also directed fiction, including the series "Układ krążenia" (1977-1978) and a film on Andrzej Bursa: "Światło odbite" (w 1989 r.). In the years 2005-2010 he was the artistic director of the International Film Festival "Jewish Motifs" in Warsaw. He considers "Daj mi to" as one of his most important documentaries of his life. The protagonists are participants pf a therapeutic group. In 2012, with the help of the "Pomerania Film" West Pomeranian Film Fund, he made "Bezsenność" - a documentary on the first post-war voivode, Leonard Borkowicz, an interesting and controversial figure.

A filmic portrait of Andrzej Mleczko.
Przechodzień, 1984, 37'
Titkow listens nad observes Tadeusz Konwicki, makes use of his family album, films, includes old film chronicles, stages excerpts from "Mała apokalipsa."
Daj mi to, 1988, 26'
"Daj mi to" ("give me that") - these words are said during therapy meetings of the Psychoeducation Laboratory Training Group. Wojciech Eichelberger served as consultant for the film.
