The organisers are happy to say that this year's West Pomerania Shorts semi-finals were a success both in terms of the number of submissions (there was a lot to choose from) as well as technical quality and variety. During three meetings (we began in spring and the last semi-final took place in late summer), the audience has voted for the following films to take part in the 2015 finals:

We reveal the films qualified to the third semi-finals of West Pomerania Shorts
The last, and therefore the most exciting "semi-final" is about to take palce. Who will the audience choose? Which titles will we see in the event's finals? We will know this in three days. OFFicyna in Stara Rzeźnia
Thanks to the OFFicyna Association, for the tenth time now Szczecin will become a film centre for north-west Poland and north-east Germany. Between October 17th and 26th Szczecin European Film Festival 2015 will be held. Over 150 films from around the world, including 40 premieres. The main competition (the European Competition and the Polish Competition) will feature 42 productions from 22 countries, and the jury evaluating them will consist of: Tomasz Raczek, Muriel Montini, Claus Löser PhD (the European Competition), Agnieszka Obszańska, Andrzej Titkow, Maja Wolińska (the Polish Competition), and Sven Eggers, Klaus Blaudzun, Roberta Wirminghaus (the Findling Award).…
The last West Pomerania Shorts semi-final and a surprise
The OFFicyna Association invites everyone to the third "semi-final" of West Pomerania Shorts, which will be taking place, as always, at Cesky Film on September 13th at 7:00 PM. Over a dozen films from the Westpomeranian Voivodeship will be competing for a place in the finals, which will be taking place on October 18th during Szczecin European Film Festival.
If you make films, music videos or reportages, you're welcome to send us your proposals until September 8th. Three films that receive the largest number of audience votes will get to be presented at SEFF '15. More information here.

Polish Television is funding the SEFF '15 Audience Award
It is our pleasure to inform you that Mr Janusz Daszczyński, Chairman of the Board at TVP, has decided to fund the Audience Award of Szczecin European Film Festival '15, in the amount of 1,000 Euro. Information on other awards can be found here.
The Laureates of the SEFF '14 Nowa Amerika award at the Castle Film Nights
The OFFicyna Association and the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle in Szczecin invite you to a double serving of the 1D Cinema project during the Castle Film Nights.

The Program Committee of the SEFF 2015 competition section begins the selection process.
On June 30th the Program Committee started discussing the competition section for SEFF 2015. The members of this fine council are faced with quite a challenge; let us remind you that the number of this year's submissions amounts to around 1800! The films will be selected by:

Thank you all for sending in a record-breaking number of films to the European and Polish competitions. We have received 1747 submissions! By the end of June the Polish-German program committee will begin their work, which will reveal the finalists. More details soon.

The second exciting semi-final of West Pomerania Shorts is almost here. On June 7th in the Český film pub we will watch 8 short films from West Pomerania. Audience members will be able to vote for their favourites. Three titles that collect the most votes will take part in the West Pomerania Shorts finals in October, during the Szczecin European Film Festival. This Sunday Český film will be screening the following productions:

Over 1,000 films submitted to the SEFF 2015 competition!
We have already received over 1,000 submissions for this year's Szczecin European Film Festival competition section! Let us remind you that submissions close on June 15th, so you still have over 2 weeks for editing, production, and sending us your films. The films can be submitted either via our website (the Submit a film tab), but also through Film Festival Life and FilmFreeway.
55th Krakow Film Festival
The 55th edition of the Krakow Film Festival is held from May 31st until June 7th 2015. During the 8 days of the festival, the viewers have the chance to watch (in 4 competitions and 11 non-competing sections) over 250 films, most of which are shown in Poland for the first time. The festival is accompanied by exhibitions, concerts, the open air cinema Kino Pod Wawelem, shows, and meetings with artists. Gdańsk DocFilm Festival is almost here!
The thirteenth instalment of the international documentary film festival Gdańsk DocFilm Festival (Dignity & Work) will be held on June 11th-14th in Gdańsk, at a new venue - the European Solidarity Centre at pl. Solidarności 1. To the competition there have been over 250 films submitted from 58 countries, including the USA, UK, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Armenia, Lithuania, Russia, Ukraine, Brazil, Mexico, Syria, and others. Celebrate Europe Week 2015.
On May 9th, Saturday, starts the the third edition of Europe Week, organised by the European Information Point Europe Direct - Szczecin. The event aims to familiarise the inhabitants of West Pomerania with the actiions undertaken by the European Union, as well as with the rights that EU citizens are entitled to.
Europe Week has many events in store:

Apply to ''2015 Ex Oriente Film''
Join the 2015 Ex Oriente Film workshops, organised by SEFF's partner - the Institute of Documentary Film (Institut dokumentárního filmu - Prague, Czech Republic). For submissions they welcome interesting documentary projects from Eastern-Central Europe that are either in development or in early stages of production.

The President of Szczecin is SEFF's Patron of Honour
We are pleased to inform you that the President of Szczecin has become the Patron of Honour of Szczecin European Film Festival. Just as a reminder, this year's edition will be taking place 18th-26th October.
