West Pomerania Shorts '16 Final

The sixth edition of the competition for short West Pomerania film forms is drawing to a close. During the final screening of West Pomerania Shorts ‘16 we will discover its winner. This film eventis growing increasingly popular amongst authors and fans. From among over 60 submissions, 36 productions were presented during three “semi-finals” between April and September. Thanks to audiences’ votes and the SEFF ‘16 Program Committee (who granted two “wildcards”), the final will feature 11 titles, including documentaries, music videos, “making of” videos, and even a wildlife film. The final showdown will be held in Český Film on October 16th, and the victor will be chosen by jurors Marek Fiałek and Damian Romaniak, as well as the audience. The main award – a year-long license for the Media Composer software – has been funded by AVID Poland.

Media Composer is one of the most popular pieces of software for real-time editing of video. The program has numerous features that are praised by professionals who have worked on such productions as “Max Max,” “Avatar,” “Star Wars,” and “Iron Man.” As a precursor, Media Composer is at the cutting edge of video editing.

 

AVID Poland – a provider of solutions for the professional film, television, and music markets. The company’s products have been used for such productions as “Mad Max,” “The Revenant,” “Spectre,” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Software by AVID Poland is also used by television stations around the world in order to enhance their productions with graphics as well as augmented and virtual reality.

    To separate imagination from reality is, in the case of Gretchen, who is brooding over her love for Faust, nearly impossible. The girl's feelings keep going to and fro between passion and panicked despair. What we see in the foreground, therefore, is the basic principle that connects slowing down and accelerating – one upon which Franz Schubert’s ingenious composition “Gretchen at the Spinning Wheel” has been created.

  • Recydywista, 17'13”

    Production: Pl 2016

    A documentary narrated by a person from the so-called underclass. The protagonist tells his life story, which includes a period at an orphanage, at a juvenile detention centre, and at a correctional facility. The film is about the life of someone uncertain of their tomorrow, lacking faith in the possibility of improvement.
