Cinema of Attractions 1896-1916

The screening will include the presentation of the most valuable European films from 1896-1916. Among them one may find the first European comedies, 19th century acrobatic shows, first erotic films, astonishing shows with trained animals, and first films with special effects. Using primitive means, such as colouring the film or optical illusions, the films of the cinema of attractions manage to entrance even a contemporary viewer with their fantastic images.
