Kamilla Gylfadóttir was born in Reykjavík Iceland in 1989. Graduated from the University of Iceland with a bachelor in Italian language and tourism studies. Studied analog photography in Aarhus Denmark and filmmaking at Bela Tarr’s film.factory in Sarajevo. She has moved between Iceland, Denmark, Italy, South Africa, Bosnia and Germany and is now based in Morocco.
Thinking about the meaning of filming something inside the context of existence. What does it mean to love someone or something. How do we hold on to it forever and ever. An explosion of nostalgia. Using family archives and own archives to try to understand patterns and reasons for filming.
