The organisers are happy to say that this year's West Pomerania Shorts semi-finals were a success both in terms of the number of submissions (there was a lot to choose from) as well as technical quality and variety.   Thanks to the OFFicyna Association, for the tenth time now Szczecin will become a film centre for north-west Poland and north-east Germany. Between October 17th and 26th Szczecin European Film Festival 2015 will be held. Over 150 films from around the world, including 40 premieres. The OFFicyna Association invites everyone to the third "semi-final" of West Pomerania Shorts, which will be taking place, as always, at Cesky Film on September 13th at 7:00 PM. On June 30th the Program Committee started discussing the competition section for SEFF 2015.   Das zweite spannende Halbfinale der Westpommerschen Shorts haben wir vor uns. Am 7. Juni  sehen wir im Pub Český film 8 Kurzfilme aus Westpommern an. Über 1000 Filme wurden zum Wettbewerbsteil der diesjährigen Ausgabe des Szczecin European Film Festivals eingereicht! Nur zur Erinnerung: die Anmeldefrist dauert bis zum 15. Juni, also es gibt noch über zwei Wochen für Montage, Produktion und Einreichen der Filme an uns. Filme können unter anderem über unsere Webseite (unter Filmanmeldung), aber auch Portale Film Festival Life sowie FilmFreeway angemeldet werden.

The 55th edition of the Krakow Film Festival is held from May 31st until June 7th 2015. During the 8 days of the festival, the viewers have the chance to watch (in 4 competitions and 11 non-competing sections) over 250 films, most of which are shown in Poland for the first time. The festival is accompanied by exhibitions, concerts, the open air cinema Kino Pod Wawelem, shows, and meetings with artists. Zum Wettbewerb können Filme in beliebiger Konvention (u. a. Spiel- und Dokumentarfilme, Videoclips, experimentelle Formen) angemeldet werden, die nicht länger als 35 Minuten sind. Die 13. Ausgabe des internationalen Festivals der Dokumentarfilme Gdańsk DocFilm Festival (Würde & Arbeit / Dignity & Work) findet von 11. bis 14. Juni in Gdańsk (Danzig), an einem neuen Ort, im Europäischen Zentrum der Solidarität, pl. Solidarności 1, statt. Zum Wettbewerb wurden über 250 Filme aus 58 Ländern, u. a. aus den USA, Großbritannien, Norwegen, Dänemark, den Niederlanden, Spanien, der Schweiz, Armenien, Litauen, Russland, der Ukraine, Brasilien, Mexiko, Syrien und anderen angemeldet. Bereits am Samstag, dem 9. Mai beginnt die dritte Ausgabe der Europäischen Woche, die von der Europäischen Informationsstelle Europe Direct – Szczecin veranstaltet wird. Die Veranstaltung hat zum Ziel, den Einwohnern der Region Westpommern die Tätigkeit der Europäischen Union sowie die den EU-Bürgern zustehenden Rechte näherzubringen.   Für die Woche werden folgende Attraktionen geplant:  9. Mai – Europäisches Picknick, also u. a. Tanzen mit der Kapelle „Kapela Hałasów“, Märchen mit Magda Polkowska und Kunststelle;  12. Mai – Konferenz zum Thema „Polen helfen! Es freut uns, Ihnen mitteilen zu können, dass der Stettiner Stadtpräsident die Ehrenschirmherrschaft über Szczecin European Film Festival übernommen hat. Nur zur Erinnerung: diesjährige Ausgabe des Festivals findet von 18. bis zum 26. Oktober statt.
